
Nominations Open for Leadership Plant City
Nominations for the 2025-2026 Leadership Plant City program are now open, offering a valuable opportunity for professionals in Plant City and East Hillsborough County to develop their leadership abilities while gaining insights into community challenges and opportunities. The 10-month program, which runs from August 2025 through May 2026, is accepting nominations until Monday, July 7. Established in 1983, this program aims to foster harmonious relations across business, professional, government, and nonprofit sectors in Plant City.
Circle K Opens On Park Road
A new Circle K convenience store held its grand opening event on June 20 at the corner of Park Road and Alsobrook Street, welcoming visitors from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. with special promotional deals, free samples from various vendors, and exclusive Circle K merchandise, marking the latest addition to the chain’s growing presence in the area and offering the full range of Circle K services including fueling stations, fresh food options, and convenience items to local residents.
Commissioners Seek Applications for Citizen Boards and Council
Hillsborough County Commissioners are currently seeking residents to serve on the newly created Hillsborough DOGE Liaison Committee, with applications due by July 9. The committee will serve in an advisory capacity to the Board and County Administrator regarding the county’s participation with the EOG DOGE Team. Five positions are available for qualified residents who must possess at least one of the following credentials: Accountant, Economist, Finance Professional, Certified Auditor, IT Professional, or Human Resources Professional. Appointees must be registered voters residing in Hillsborough County, will serve without compensation for a one-year term, and will meet monthly to provide written updates with a final report upon conclusion. Miss Southwest Central Florida Hosts Miss Florida Sendoff
The Miss Southwest Central Florida Scholarship Organization hosted its 2025 Miss Florida Sendoff Event on June 22 at the Cleveland Heights Golf and Country Club, celebrating twelve delegates from six local pageant organizations who will compete for the Miss Florida and Miss Florida Teen titles. The contestants, representing Lakeland, Polk County, Swan City, Plant City, Hillsborough County, and Florida Blueberry, were honored at this special event ahead of the Miss Florida competition week. “We are incredibly proud of the exceptional young women participating in this year’s pageant,” said Gail Domedion, Vice President of the organization. The final competition will culminate on Saturday, June 28, when the new Miss Florida and Miss Florida Teen will be crowned. Community members are encouraged to support the delegates by attending the events and can find more information at MissFlorida.org. Including four from Plant City.
