Plant City High 2014 offensive lineman Montel McBride has quickly built a strong reputation through the recruiting circuit in the Southeast, and has a slew of big name schools requesting his services next year.
This week, the standout will have an opportunity to put his skills on display at the national level, as one of the select few high school prospects chosen to take part in Nike The Opening 2013, Nike’s showcase event held at the their world headquarters in Beaverton, Ore.
The event kicks off tonight with the SPARQ Rating National Championship. “The Opening” features a total of 162 players, including a number of five-star and blue-chip prospects, that will put their skills on display against other talented players.
McBride is a member of Team AlphaPro. There are six teams in the event, each with multiple prospects at different positions. A 7-0n-7 pool play tournament will begin tomorrow and the Lineman Challenge and 7-on-7 finals will take place Wednesday night.

Wednesday: 9 p.m.-midnight — Lineman Challenge Finals and 7 on 7 Finals
