Candidate Randy Toler will work together with all of Plant City to bring new retail traffic to downtown with increased campaigns and smart growth, coupled with ecological planning. These are the issues that Plant City Voters want to change. Developers are not in the driver’s seat. Plant City voters are. As Wikipedia states, Randy Toler is a national political figure over the decades and has rich business experience in the private sector. Toler has a B.S. Degree from University of Missouri-Columbia in Public Administration from the Business School. As an ex-IBMer, Toler has a decades-long career in mainframe software and will bring that expertise to Plant City Government, particularly eco-software and green IT. Toler is married to Alicia Kirk Toler and they have three children together. The 18 year old son is autistic and Randy and Alicia both ran at the same time for Hillsborough County School Board in the USA’s 5th largest school district. The Tolers have lived in the PC area for 15 years.

If elected, what would be your first priority in office?
Number one priority-smart growth
What is your position on property taxes and city spending?
Property Taxes reform is needed. I support Homestead policies and I am against eliminating tax break. City Spending need more focus. As ex-IBMer I will use my computer expertise with eco-software and green IT to reduce City Utility bills in particular.
What steps would you take to improve public safety?
Public safety, especially fire protection big issue with certain parts of Plant City experiencing extremely rapid growth.
How do you balance growth with preserving neighborhood character?
Plant City’s neighborhood character needs to be preserved with better growth management. Let’s not pave over paradise.
Why should voters choose you over opponents?
I have been in national politics for almost fifty years as well as a government software expert and want to bring that cost cutting expertise to Plant City Government.
