An electrical issue sparked a fire at the Marathon gas station at McIntosh Road and Highway 92 Thursday, Feb. 26.
Hillsborough County Fire Rescue responded to a report of a commercial structure fire at 5:30 a.m. Upon arrival, HCFR found smoke and flames coming from the exterior of the southwest corner of the gas station. Because of the crew’s fast attack, the fire was contained to the exterior and extinguished.
All employees and patrons were evacuated prior to HCFR’s arrival. There were no injuries to civilians or personnel. HCFR
Incident Command determined the cause of the fire was electrical.
