Local pet groomer raising money for dog’s spinal surgery

A local groomer and habitual animal rescuer has set up a GoFundMe account for a 10-week old puppy in need of surgery.

Kacey Peacock, owner of Clawesome PetSitting and Grooming, is currently raising money for Roo, a dog with a spinal deformity.

After initial x-rays were conducted, it was determined that the dog has three vertebrae that are deformed and out of place. The deformed vertebrae prevent the animal from being able to bend his head backwards. The dog is also unable to roll on his back without being in pain.

Pet visits and x-rays have been extensive for Peacock, including a $145 consultation and an upcoming $1200 MRI.

Without surgery, a wrong fall or rough play could extensively harm or even fatally injure the dog. So far, Peacock has been paying out of pocket for vet bills and other services for the animal.
