Busy Bee on a Sunshine Bloom
A Western Honey Bee (Apis mellifera) forages for pollen on the small yellow flower of a Sida species, a plant common to fields and roadsides in Central Florida. The intricate floral structure, which identifies it as a member of the Mallow family, provides a rich source of pollen for the vital pollinator.
