Some of Hopewell Baptist Church's congregation has spent the past school year making sure young children were fed and encouraged in school.
The church's "Hope team" gave out "Boxes of Blessings" to local elementary schools with the goal of feeding 140 children per week. The boxes, which contain "Hope bags," also contain messages of encouragement for students and teachers.
The team delivered 600 tumblers full of candy and positive messages to Jackson Elementary on Wednesday morning. Its members have also delivered boxes to Pinecrest Elementary, and gave out "Fun Finance Kits" to Walden Lake fifth graders.
