Hope Lutheran to welcome back former vicar, new associate pastor

One of Hope Lutheran Church's most popular vicars is coming back this summer.

The church announced Tuesday that Shea Pennington, of Cedar Park, Texas, will rejoin the staff as an associate pastor in July. Pennington, who will graduate from the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod's Concordia Seminary on May 20, will first have his ordination service in Texas, where Hope Senior Pastor Rev. Dean Pfeffer will serve as the preacher.

"To say that the members of Hope are excited for Shea to return as our Associate Pastor is truly an understatement," Pfeffer said in a release. "Shea brings a deep passion and love for people, ministry and our community. There is no doubt that, together, as pastors and people with God's strong arm to lead and guide us, great things can and will happen at Hope and Plant City for the cause of the Gospel."

Hope will host Pennington's installation service at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 31.
