The United Food Bank of Plant City recently got a boost from Hope Lutheran Church.
On Sunday, Jan. 8, the church presented director Mary Heysek and other members of the food bank with a donation totaling $1,055. Just over half that total, $555, was raised through the church's Sunday, Dec. 21, offering at its youth Christmas program, and the remaining $500 was donated by an anonymous church member.
The money will benefit the food bank's Children's Nutrition Program, which feeds children on free or reduced lunch programs when school is not in session.
