A man who ran for help after being shot along the Hillsborough-Polk county line Thursday, March 30, is expected to survive, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office.
The man was shot in a vehicle and then ran to a home on Earl Yates Lane in Plant City, near Interstate 4, deputies said. The man, who was not identified, was taken to Lakeland Regional Medical Center for medical treatment.
Hillsborough sheriff's detectives will work with their counterparts from the Polk County Sheriff's Office to investigate the shooting.
Authorities said they have not yet established a motive for the shooting, and the incident is believed to have occurred in Polk County.
