HCFR extinguishes south P.C. home fire

Hillsborough County Fire Rescue responded to a residential structure fire at a south Plant City home Saturday, June 27.

When HCFR arrived, firefighters found flames through the roof at 4933 John Wesley Place.  Due to the construction of the home and the extent of the fire, firefighters fought the blaze from the outside of the home.

Embers caught the brush on fire. Command protected other nearby brush with another engine and a brush truck. A water shuttle operation was established by three tankers to keep a continuous flow of water for the brush and structure fire.  A Gradeall excavator was called in to assist with pulling apart the debris to ensure the fire was extinguished.

There were no injuries to civilians or personnel, and the American Red Cross was initiated to assist with the displacement.

The cause of the fire was determined by the HCFR Incident Command to be accidental.
