On Saturday, November 1, Grace Manor at Hunter’s Creek Independent & Assisted Living held its Walk to End Alzheimer’s. Sheryl Vitelli, Regional Director of Operations with Mainstay Senior Living, the parent company of Grace Manor, started the event two years ago. The walkers who came out went around the lake at Brewer Park three times—which is about one mile. Last year the event raised $2,800, so the goal this year was $5,000. However, that figure was blown out of the water with nearly $11,000 coming in. “It was the most amazing event,” Vitelli said. “It was awesome. We had the most participation we have ever had. We had support from Carole Brennan from the Alzheimer’s Association. We had 61 walkers. We had 11 vendors. The turnout energized everyone. Each step together brings us closer to a world without Alzheimer’s. Thanks to all of our walkers, sponsors, and vendors. It is always inspiring to see families, residents, neighbors, and community partners there.”
