A head-on collision killed four people early Friday morning along State Road 60 in Plant City.
It happened about 12:13 a.m. just east of Clarence Gordon Jr. Road. Rolando Silva, 31, of Plant City, was headed east at a high rate of speed in a 2006 BMW when he lost control of the car and veered onto the center median strip, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The BMW hit a speed limit sign then veered into the oncoming lanes of State Road 60, where a 1999 Cadillac DeVille was headed west, troopers said. The cars collided.
All three people in the Cadillac, including the driver, Joseph Vizcarrondo, 26, passenger Lauren Elizabeth Phillips, 19, both of Valrico, and passenger Jenna Dawn Kelly, 25, of Sun City Center, were killed in the crash. Silva also died.
The crash, which was not believed to be alcohol-related, remained under investigation Friday morning.
