Discovery Quest on its way

Chart your course, the 2019 East Hillsborough Discovery Quest is on its way.

The organization puts on the annual event to help connect local residence to community services and programs, housing assistance, job opportunities and general information on elderly programs. The informational experience transforms into a party as an assortment of food vendors and live entertainment make their way to the event to offer a day filled with fun.

There are a variety of activities on site for children and families as well as door prizes, which will be raffled off from donation tickets.

Much of the civic organizations and community groups in town run entirely off of volunteers. Attendees will have the opportunity to find out how they can get involved with a large offering of groups to help make the community stronger.

While people stroll the aisles they will also have the chance to get to know their local nonprofits, many of which serve thousands of residents every year.

Discovery Quest was originally created to help pop the “Plant City Bubble,” a metaphor used to describe the isolation many within the city and nearby areas feel from the rest of Tampa Bay and Hillsborough County.

A variety of services are available to the public that many don’t even know exist, let alone understand how to take advantage of its offerings.

By bringing everything under one roof Discovery Quest is able to offer a one-stop shop of services while also enticing families with a day filled with good food and festive entertainment.

The event is free, will feature more than 70 booths and is held at Plant City High School, 1 Raider Place, from
