Plant City Observer

Court Member: Kellen Morris

What are you looking forward to the most as a member of the court?

I am excited to walk down the streets of the festival. As a kid, that was my most exciting thing, to see the court and the queen walk around with everybody else.

Were you nervous during the pageant?

Absolutely. I was terrified. But, the way it was backstage, and the girls I was with, made it so much better.

What is something unique about Plant City that makes you proud to live here?

We’re such a close-knit community. That’s something that gets lost in the way society is these days.

Why do you want to study architectural engineering?

I took honors physics last year, and my teacher pulled me aside and was mentioning to me about getting into physics. I love doodling … it’s my getaway. I combined that with the fact that I like interacting with people, and digital design, and I thought that architecture would be a good place to go with my career.

What are some of your hobbies and interests?

I’ve played sports since I was 4. I’ve played softball, basketball, flag football and soccer.
