TAILGATE TROUBLES

1800 block of North Shannon Avenue

Theft: This complainant stated the tailgate from his blue 2010 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck was stolen between 7:39 and 10 a.m. while the truck was parked in his driveway.

JUST A HUNCH

300 block of Park Springs Circle

Drug investigation: Officers grew suspicious of a vehicle at an apartment complex and investigated, only to find their hunch was correct. Two men were arrested for charges of armed trafficking and violation of probation, respectively.

WELL, THAT SUCKS

800 block of South Collins Street.

Criminal mischief: The owner of a car wash told police someone had broken into the vacuum machines at the business.

INSIDE JOB

2600 block of James L. Redman Parkway.

Theft: Officers arrested a business’s employee for stealing money from the site. The employee was given a court date and a notice to appear.

AIRING IT OUT

700 block of East Ohio Street

Criminal mischief: Sometime during the night of May 25, this complainant reported, someone smashed his vehicle’s driver’s side front widow. The complainant just wanted the incident documented and signed a waiver of prosecution.

DEADLY DISPUTE

1100 block of East Dr. MLK Boulevard

Information report: When officers responded to a report of neighbors arguing, they learned one man’s two pit bulls entered his neighbor’s back yard and killed her dog. Her husband was bitten on the arm when attempting to separate the dogs. Animal Services impounded both pit bulls and an information report was completed.

NO TAG, NO PROBLEM?

Whitehurst Road/East Baker Street

Impounded vehicle: Officers saw someone driving a sport bike without a tag attached and ticketed the driver. The bike was towed by rotation.

I REMEMBER YOU

2600 block of James L. Redman Parkway

Felon in possession/narcotics: Officers on the road recognized a sedan driven by a man known to have a suspended drivers license and conducted a traffic stop. The driver was confirmed to be a previously convicted felon, found to be in possession of drugs and was taken to HCSO without incident.

TWO DAYS, TWO BURGLARIES

510 block of South Lake Street.

Residential burglary: This complainant reported more than $1,000 worth of miscellaneous power tools were stolen from his home during a burglary. The next day, he found that someone re-entered his home the exact same way and stole some scaffolding from within.

LOST AND FOUND

2400 block of Airport Road

Vehicle theft: Employees of a business reported someone had stolen a Ford F-550 pickup truck worth more than $40,000. The vehicle, which also contained miscellaneous items when it was stolen, was later found and recovered.

SECURE THE BAG

3820 block of Creekway Court

Vehicle burglary: This complainant reported her vehicle was broken into and a bag containing $120 cash and other miscellaneous items was stolen.

GARAGE BAND(IT)

1700 block of North Gordon Street

Burglary: During the night, someone illegally entered this complainant’s garage and took $2,000 worth of wire. The garage was missing a door at the time of the burglary.

WHEN THINGS GET HAIRY

1500 block of East Baker Street

Petit theft: A store employee reported a woman stole several hair products, valued together at $31.60, by putting them in a large black purse and then leaving the business. The store declined to pursue charges and a waiver of prosecution was completed.

YOUR MONEY’S NO GOOD HERE

700 block of South Collins Street

Counterfeit: Restaurant employees stated a man and a woman ordered food and tried to pay with a counterfeit $100 bill.
