March 16

COLD CAR, COLDER HEART

700 block of East Ohio Street.
Vehicle burglary: Complainant stated unknown suspect(s) entered her vehicle and stole its keys and a backpack. Complainant had turned the vehicle on to run the heater at 5:20 a.m., then went inside to eat breakfast and brush her teeth while it warmed up. The vehicle was entered during this time.

FUSSY FIEND

Multiple locations.
Vehicle burglary: Complainants at three locations stated an unknown suspect entered their vehicles, rummaged through them and did not take anything. The vehicles were located at the 110 block of East J. Arden Mays Boulevard, the 110 block of South Collins Street and the 100 block of East Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.

300 block of West Grant Street.
Vehicle burglary: Complainant stated unknown suspect(s) entered her unlocked Mercury van overnight and stole a new Wells Fargo checkbook. Complainant signed a waiver of prosecution.

 

March 17

SOMETHING STINKS

2430 block of James L. Redman Parkway.
Retail theft: Complainant stated unknown suspect(s) stole clothing and several Little Trees air fresheners from a dollar store.

 

March 18

IT WASN’T ME

2850 block of Thonotosassa Road.
Found property: An officer took custody of a found wallet which, among other things, contained a $1 bill and a straw with white residue on them. There was not enough of the residue for proper testing. The wallet was placed in PCPD evidence for safekeeping. Its owner responded to PCPD that evening, denied knowledge of the substance-covered items and was told to claim the wallet the next day.

COULD HAVE BEEN WORSE

700 block of East Warren Street.
Vehicle burglary: Complainant stated unknown suspect(s) entered her unlocked vehicle during the evening and stole a purse. Complainant had left both her purse and her keys in the vehicle, but the keys were left alone.
