SEPT. 8

FAST AND FURIOUS

800 block of East Alabama Street. Bicycle Theft. Unknown suspect(s) stole a green Mount Fury mountain bike with a dog chain on the handle bars. The bike was valued at $40.

SEPT. 9

FIVE-FINGER DISCOUNT

2600 block of James L. Redman Parkway. Shoplifting. The suspect stole $26.60 in household items. She was arrested and transported to the Orient Road Jail.

BAD DAY

2600 block of James L. Redman Parkway. Shoplifting/Drug Arrest. The suspect stole $439.92 in clothing and jewelry. She also was found in possession of .5 grams of marijuana and three Xanax pills without a prescription. She was transported to the Orient Road Jail.

SEPT. 10

BUSTED BIKER

3700 block of Magnolia Green Street. Grand Theft — Motor Vehicle. The suspect was arrested for possessing a stolen motorcycle. The suspect had previously been identified by Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office as the driver of the stolen motorcycle, after officers attempted a traffic stop from which the suspect fled. He was transported to the Orient Road Jail.

SEPT. 11

QUICK STRIKE

600 block of West Ball Street. Residential Burglary. Unknown suspect(s) entered the home through the back window and stole about $2,000 in jewelry and electronics. This occurred during the day.

WHAT’S IN YOUR MOUTH?

1200 block of South Alexander Street. Resist Arrest. Police officers observed the suspect leaving the area of West Ball and Empire streets  on a bicycle. The officers then saw the suspect had no lights on his bicycle and conducted a traffic stop at Alexander and West Ball streets. Immediately upon contact, the suspect took what appeared to be a white, chalky substance and throw it into his mouth. The officer attempted to retrieve the item without success. The officer believed the substance appeared to be crack cocaine at the time of incident. The white substance was not located. It is unknown if the suspect swallowed the item or if it was lost on the ground. The suspect was uncooperative and would not identify the substance. A search revealed 4.2 grams of marijuana in the suspect’s pocket. The suspect was transported to Orient Road Jail.

SEPT. 12

CRIME OF OPPORTUNITY

1500 block of Plantation Grove Court. Vehicle Burglary. The victim said she left her car unlocked, and between 6 p.m. and 8 a.m. the next morning, unknown suspect(s) stole her purse and the contents. Total value of stolen property was $100.

NEED TO MEET THOSE HOA RULES

1200 block of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. Business Burglary. Unknown suspect(s) broke the latch on the door to a storage shed and stole a weed trimmer, valued at $200.

PUFF, PUFF, GIVE

600 block of North Maryland Avenue. Drug Arrest. Police officers observed a Mazda sedan with the odor of marijuana emanating from it in the parking lot of the grocery store. Further investigation led to the arrest of the driver and passenger for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

… OR ARE YOU JUST HAPPY TO SEE ME?

Intersection of North Wills and East Cherry streets. Drug Arrest. Police officers conducted a traffic stop on the suspect, who was riding a bicycle with no light affixed after dark. Upon conducting a stop, the suspect immediately grabbed a bulge in his pants and refused to display hands. He was detained and ultimately arrested for the possession of 19.1 grams of marijuana.

SEPT. 13

BIG-SCREEN BLUES

800 block of West Baker Street. Residential Burglary. Unknown suspect(s) entered the home by unknown means and stole a 60-inch LG flat-panel television.

HELP YOURSELF

600 block of South Knight Street. Residential Burglary. The victim reported her residence was burglarized between 7:20 a.m. and 4 p.m. Sept. 13. The suspect(s) stole a 47-inch television, desktop computer and a Nintendo console, all valued at $2,199.
