Cops Corner 08.12.16

The following information was gathered from incident and arrest reports obtained from the Plant City Police Department.

July 29

PURSE PROBLEMS

1300 block of North Barnes Street.

Vehicle burglary: Officer met with complainant, who stated unknown suspect(s) entered their unlocked vehicle and stole a purse. The vehicle had been left unlocked.

PIGGY BANK BANDIT

1300 block of North Barnes Street.

Vehicle burglary: Officer met with complainant, who stated unknown suspect(s) entered their vehicle and stole $6 in coins. The vehicle had been left unlocked.

SHOPAHOLIC

1900 block of East Linda Street.

Fraud: Officers met with complainant, who stated unknown suspect(s) had used her retail store credit card and charged over $300 to it without her knowledge.

RUDE AWAKENING

2000 block of South Frontage Road.

Recovered stolen vehicle: Officers found a man sleeping in the back seat of a Chevrolet Impala, which was confirmed stolen by Lakeland Police Department. The subject was woken up and arrested for possession of counterfeit identification and giving a false name to a police officer.

July 30

TEAMWORK MAKES THE DREAM WORK

2300 block of Maki Road.

Vehicle burglary: Officers responded to a call regarding a series of vehicle burglaries. Two suspects, an adult and a juvenile, were arrested.

July 31

SHED SLEUTHING

600 block of Charter Street.

Residential burglary: Officer met with complainant, who stated lawn equipment had gone missing from his shed, which he had left unlocked. The equipment was later recovered, and the complainant signed a waiver of prosecution.

UNINVITED GUEST

South Woodrow Wilson Street/Airport Road.

Drug investigation: Officer responded to an area regarding a call about a subject attempting to open complainant’s car door. Subject was identified and arrested.

LOST AND FOUND

910 block of Loganderry Lane.

Stolen vehicle: Officer met with complainant, who stated unknown suspect(s) had stolen her black 2015 Ford Fiesta. One day later, another officer conducted a traffic stop on the car and found that the complainant had recovered it. She declined to press charges and signed a waiver of prosecution.

August 1

NOT MUCH HELP

400 block of North Alexander Street.

Found property: Officer responded to a store regarding a report of found property. Unknown subject(s) had left a wallet, containing $2 and no identification, and a cell phone without a battery in the store.

TIRE TROUBLE

4300 block of Sterling Commerce Drive.

Grand theft: Officer met with complainant, who stated unknown suspect(s) had stolen two tires from an unsecured trailer.

MAD MECHANIC

100 block of West Langford Drive.

Criminal mischief: Officer met with complainant, who stated unknown suspect(s) threw a scissor vehicle jack through the rear window of his 2016 Dodge Journey.

August 3

BUZZ KILL

300 block of South Frontage Road.

Found property: Officer responded to a hotel regarding a trespassing call. A search of the room the subjects were found in uncovered a purse, syringes, a spoon and paraphernalia in a dresser. Neither subject claimed ownership of the property, and they were not seen using the paraphernalia, so the items were taken into PCPD custody for destruction.
