An officer made contact with a store employee who reported a pack of Mossy Oak shirts valued at $12.50 was stolen.

An officer met with the victim, who reported an unknown subject had stolen his backpack from a common area while he was playing basketball.
Fast and Furious – Street Racing Arrest
W Baker St/Thonotosassa Rd
While conducting an unrelated investigation, officers, along with a citizen, were on the side of the road when truck 1 engaged in a speed competition with truck 2 at the traffic signal. Upon doing so, the driver of truck 1 lost control momentarily and slid sideways, nearly striking all three on the roadside, before taking off in a competition of speed once again against truck 2. An officer was alerted via radio and located the vehicles on Thonotosassa Rd. / Alexander St. and conducted a stop on truck 1. The driver was placed under arrest for street racing and transported to Orient Road Jail.

An officer met with the victim who advised he was punched in the arm by an unknown subject for an unknown reason.
June 21
Return to the Scene – Felony Battery
2700 block of Thonotosassa Rd
Officers responded to the location and met with the victim. It was determined a subject entered the store and was recognized by store employees as a known thief from their previous encounters. When the victim confronted the subject, he struck her in the face before fleeing on foot southbound, where officers were able to capture him. The subject was placed under arrest and transported to Orient Road Jail.

An officer conducted a traffic stop and met with the driver, who did not have a valid driver’s license and had never had one issued. The driver was placed under arrest and transported to Orient Road Jail.

Officers responded to the area in reference to a suspicious person checking vehicles in the area. A subject was placed under arrest for theft and criminal mischief and transported to Orient Road Jail.

An officer conducted a traffic stop on a bicycle due to a bicycle law violation. The rider was placed under arrest and transported to Orient Road Jail.

I Try to Tell You – Vehicle Burglary
600 block of Alexander St
Officers responded to the location in reference to the report of a delayed vehicle burglary. The victim reported that while attempting to leave for work, she noticed someone had entered her unlocked vehicle and removed her wallet containing credit cards from the center console.

900 block of E Cherry St
Officers responded to the location after the report of two vehicles shooting at each other.
June 25
Now You See It – Theft – Quick Change Scam
2600 block of James L Redman Pkwy
Officers responded to the location and met with store employees in reference to a “quick change scam.” Through the investigation, it was determined that an unknown male and female entered the store and went to the jewelry section and selected approximately $3,000, and approached the front cash registers. Once at the registers, the female subject provided $3,100 in $100 bills, and once the cashier counted it, asked for the cash back. Using sleight of hand, the female took $1,900 back and tucked it into her purse before handing the cash back to the cashier.
