APRIL 11

BAD DAY

2600 block of James L. Redman Parkway. Retail Theft. –The female suspect was arrested for grand theft and possession of a controlled substance. She was transported to Orient Road Jail.

OOPS

610 block of Charlow Court. Crash Involving City Vehicle. The citizen driver struck a parked, unoccupied city construction truck. The driver suffered no injuries, and the vehicle had minor damage.

A FEW TOO MANY

Intersection of North Gordon and East Young streets. DUI Crash. The officer responded to a crash involving a vehicle and a fence. On scene, the officer met with the driver, who consented to a field sobriety test. Upon conclusion, the suspect was arrested.

APRIL 12

CADDY CONUNDRUM

Intersection of Trapnell Road and James L. Redman Parkway. Recovered Stolen Vehicle. A 2001 Cadillac was found abandoned with no keys.

HOW DID THAT GET THERE?

Intersection of North Franklin and West Reynolds streets. Possession of Crack Cocaine. The officer conducted a traffic stop and obtained consent to search. The search yielded crack cocaine. The suspect was was arrested and transported to Orient Road Jail.

THAT’S NOT MINE …

Intersection of James L. Redman Parkway and East Alexander Street. Drug Possession. The officer conducted a traffic crash investigation. He made contact with driver and located marijuana and pills in the vehicle. The suspect was arrested and transported to Orient Road Jail.

APRIL 13

THEY DIDN’T GET FAR

1210 block of Goldfinch Drive. Reckless Driving. Officers responded to the location in reference to subjects in the parking lot causing a disturbance. Upon arrival, the two subjects causing the disturbance were driving out of the parking lot. Both subjects were later arrested.

THAT’S JUST LOW

2300 block of East Cherry Street. Vehicle Burglary. The victim reported that while she watched youth sports,  someone smashed rear passenger-side window and stole blue purse, which contained a $100 bill, debit card, Social Security cards and a passport.

REALLY, REALLY LOW

1700 block of North Park Road. Vehicle Burglary. The victim reported that while she was attending a youth sporting event, someone broke the window of her 2009 GMC Yukon and stole her purse.

TAXING SITUATION

4600 block of Summerwind Court. Identity Theft. The officer met with the victim, who filed her taxes only to discover someone else filed taxes using her Social Security number.

THAT’S JUST CREEPY

1100 block of West Reynolds Street. Vehicle Burglary. The officer responded in reference to a disturbance. He met with the victim, who stated she lay down for a nap and woke up to the suspects sitting in her car. The victim checked her purse, which was in the car, and noticed $200 cash, her iPod and phone were missing.

PASSENGER PROBLEMS

1200 block of West Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. Possession of Drugs and Paraphernalia. The officer conducted a traffic stop. A search of the vehicle yielded marijuana and two glass pipes. The passenger had an Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office warrant for driving with a suspended license. The passenger was arrested for the warrant and for possession of drugs and paraphernalia. The driver admitted that one of the pipes was his and was released on his own recognizance.

APRIL 15

BASHED BY A BRICK

310 block of Park Springs Circle. Criminal Mischief. Sometime between 1:30 and 6:30 a.m., unknown person(s) threw a large brick through the back window of a 2005 Ford Focus. The window is valued at $300.

CIVIC SMASHED

500 block of Seminole Lake Boulevard. Criminal Mischief. Overnight, unknown person(s) broke the windshield of a 2007 Honda Civic. According to the victim, he has no enemies and does not know who would have damaged his car.

CRIMINAL CONTRACTOR

830 block of Ashentree Drive. Fraud/Information. Over the course of several months, the suspect took about $5,000 from the victim for home repairs that were never completed. The suspect is believed to have fled the state.

FUNNY MONEY

2510 block of James L. Redman Parkway. Counterfeit Bill. The officer responded to the gas station in reference a counterfeit $20 bill. He met with an employee, who advised that the male suspect tried to make a purchase with the counterfeit bill. Upon her inspection, she advised him it was fake, and the subject left the store in an unknown direction. She was not able to get a license plate. The store was not out any merchandise or fuel. A report was taken, and the fake bill was impounded.

ALMOST GOT AWAY WITH IT

2600 block of James L. Redman Parkway. Retail Theft. The officer responded to the store reference retail theft. Upon arrival, he met with the complainant, who said he observed the suspect select a toy from the toy aisle and take it to the service desk to attempt to get a refund. He was given a refund on a store gift card, the value was $21. 37.

APRIL 16

HANDLING THE SITUATION

2600 block of James L. Redman Parkway. Retail Theft/Dealing Stolen Property. A white female and white male took two packs of knobs (valued at $38.46), passed the cash registers and returned the knobs for gift cards at customer service. They both left in a yellow vehicle.

 WHERE’S THE BEEF?

2600 block of James L. Redman Parkway. Shoplifting. The suspect was arrested for the theft of $51 worth of meat.

SOME PEOPLE NEVER LEARN

510 block of South Maryland Avenue. Warrant Arrest/Drug Possession. The officer made contact with the suspect, who left his vehicle running while he went into the store. An FCIC/NCIC check revealed a Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office warrant for failure to appear on possession of marijuana charges. A search incident to arrest yielded marijuana in the suspect’s pocket. An inventory search of the vehicle yielded crack cocaine.

APRIL 17

TABLET TROUBLE

1000 block of North Franklin Street. Vehicle Burglary. Unknown suspect(s) entered the vehicle through a partially open window. The suspect(s) stole a black bag with a Generation 4 64GB iPad inside.

HOT OUTFITS

1400 block of South Collins Street. Shoplifting/Petit Theft. The officer responded to the store in reference to a detained shoplifter. Upon conclusion of his investigation, he arrested the suspect, who concealed two blouses, valued at $20.98, and exited the business without rendering payment.

RISKY BUSINESS

1200 block of Risk Street. Residential Burglary. The officer responded and met with victim, who stated she believes someone used a ladder to steal her black Roadmaster mountain bicycle, valued at $75, and her maroon Huffy bicycle, valued at $75.

DRIVE-THRU DRAMA

2700 block of James L. Redman Parkway. Attempted Robbery. The officer responded to Elmwood Court, in reference to the delayed reporting of a robbery. He met with the complainant, who said she was in the drive-thru of the fast-food restaurant, when the suspect approached her window and demanded money.

HOW DID THAT GET THERE?

Intersection of East Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and South Lake Street. Drug Possession. The officer made contact with the suspect. As the officer approached, he saw the suspect throw something on the ground. A check of the area yielded a piece of crack cocaine.

FIVE-FINGER DISCOUNT

2600 block of James L. Redman Parkway. Shoplifting/Petit Theft. The suspect selected $62 worth of items from the store and left without rendering payment.
