April 10

Shame, Shame – Trespassing after Arrest

1700 block of James L Redman Pkwy

An officer was conducting a patrol around the business and observed a subject exiting the business through the northwest entrance. The officer immediately recognized the subject from previous calls for service and was aware he had been previously trespassed from the business. The subject was arrested and transported to Orient Road Jail. 

Not a Suggestion – Reckless Driving-Arrest

1700 block of James L Redman Pkwy

An officer conducted a traffic stop after he observed a vehicle blatantly run two steady-red traffic signals in front of him, nearly resulting in a collision. The driver was placed under arrest for reckless driving and transported to Orient Road Jail. 

Weird Hangout Spot – Criminal Mischief

2200 block of Gatewood St

An officer met with the victim who reported that several unknown juveniles jumped the wall into her backyard and were hanging out when she walked out and confronted them. As they ran away, they stepped on a compost bin, damaging it, then jumped her wooden fence, breaking several pickets. 

Don’t Run To Florida – Fugitive Warrant-Arrest

2300 block of S Fairway Dr

An officer made contact with a subject who was known to have an active felony/full extradition warrant out of Indiana for DUI-W/Bodily Injury. The warrant was confirmed and the subject was transported to Orient Road Jail.

Up In Flames – Suspected Arson

1500 block of N Ferrell St

An officer responded to an RV on fire. The State Fire Marshal’s Office responed and took over the arson investigation. 

April 11

Double the Speed – Warrant/DWLS 

Arrest

N Maryland Ave/S Frontage Rd

An officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle traveling 61 mph in a 30 mph zone. Upon making contact with the driver, he stated he didn’t have his license. He also had an active warrant out of the Polk County Sheriff’s Office for Stolen Property. The driver was arrested on the authority of the warrant and charged with Felony DWLSR. He was also issued a UTC for speeding (30+ mph over posted speed).

Eat and Evade – Shoplifting

2600 block of James L Redman Pkwy

An officer met with loss prevention, who advised that they observed a subject enter the business and consume multiple items before exiting the business without rendering payment. The subject was arrested and transported to Orient Road Jail. 

April 12

Tag You Aren’t It – DWLS Arrest

James L Redman Pkwy

Officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle displaying a tag that returned to a trailer. Contact was made with the driver, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle. The driver was placed under arrest and charged with DWLS (3rd or subsequent offense) and attaching a tag not assigned. He was transported to Orient Road Jail. 

Hide and Find – Stolen Recovered Vehicle

Ball St/Washington St

Officers were conducted proactive patrol in the area when they observed a vehicle parked along the roadway. Upon further investigation, it was discovered the vehicle had been reported stolen out of Hillsborough County. 

Bad Place to Nap – DUI-Arrest

I-4 Eastbound/N Alexander St

An officer responded to a call for assistance from FHP reference a female unresponsive in a vehicle on I-4. The subject was placed under arrest and transported to Orient Road Jail. 

April 15

Bonus – Warrant Arrest

S Park Rd and E Alabama St

Officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle and met with the driver and registered owner of the vehicle. The driver was found to have an outstanding warrant out of HCSO for Felony Petit Theft. The warrant was confirmed and the driver was taken into custody and transported to Orient Road Jail. 

Gone in 60 Seconds – Grand Theft Auto

200 block of E Baker St

Officer met with the complainant who advised that after taking inventory, a 2013 black Infinity G37 was found to be missing off the lot. 

April 16

How Many Now? – DWLS x 5 Arrest

Alexander St/Timberlane Dr

Officers responded to assist with a traffic stop at the intersection. The driver was found to be operating at a high rate of speed and weaving through traffic. It was confirmed that his license was suspended since October 9, 2020, and he was placed under arrest and transported to Orient Road Jail. 

Another Napper – Drug Arrest

4400 block of Tina Ln

An officer responded to a suspicious vehicle and found the driver passed out behind the wheel of a running vehicle in the roadway. The driver was placed under arrest and transported to Orient Road Jail.
