March 27

Had a Hunch – Drug Arrest

E Cherry St/N Shannon Ave

An officer located the subject at the location listed and took him into custody for his active probable cause pickup – criminal mischief. He was arrested for his criminal mischief charges and possession of a controlled substance and transported to Orient Road Jail.

Your Not Using It – Stolen Tag

1400 block of Plantation Cir

An officer responded to the location and met with the complainant, who stated that his vehicle had been parked in front of his building for a month and had not been driven. He noticed on March 25 that the license plate had been removed from the vehicle. It is unknown exactly when it was removed during the month. 

Do A Runner – Theft of Services

1200 block of Townsgate Ct

An officer responded to the location and met with the manager, who stated a man consumed approximately $74.21 worth of food and got approximately $50.21 worth of food to go, but no payment was rendered. 

Probably a Tank of Gas – Fraud

500 block of N Knight St

An officer met with the victim, who reported her debit card had been lost and she received notification that a purchase was made for $124.59. 

I Didn’t Do Nothing – Resist Officer 

with Violence

Hitchcock St/E Madison St

An officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a vehicle for speeding and failure to stop at a stop sign. The subject was taken into custody. An ECRA was completed for Resisting with Violence and Felony DWLSR. He was also issued citations based upon the unlawful driving. 

March 28

No Hiding For You – Warrant Arrest

3300 block of W Oak Ave

Officers were conducting an active patrol and came into contact with a subject known to have an active arrest warrant out of HCSO. The warrant was confirmed, and the subject was taken into custody and transported to Orient Road Jail. 

Crash and Dash – Leaving Scene

1000 block of Walden Pond Dr

An officer responded to the location in reference to a hit-and-run crash. The suspect’s vehicle was later located, and contact was made with a subject who was arrested and transported to Orient Road Jail.

Patty O Furniture –  Petit Theft

2200 block of Preservation Dr

Officers met with the HOA representative, who stated that one table, four chairs, and one garbage can were removed from the community pool patio and that the incident had taken place between March 5 and March 6. 

Scoped it Out – Burglary – Storage Unit

100 block of S Alexander St

An officer met with the victim, who reported that his storage unit had been entered and a firearm and scope were taken. 

March 29

Game Over – Battery

1700 block of N Park Rd

Officers met with a Little League baseball coach who stated that after the game ended, he got into a verbal altercation, at which time he was struck in the face. 

Pay For Your Kids – Warrant Arrest

1100 block of W Spencer St

Acting on a tip from Crime Stoppers, an officer responded to the location in reference to a subject on scene with an out-of-county warrant. Contact was made, and an FCIC/NCIC check revealed the subject had a warrant for Failure to Pay Child Support from Polk County. The warrant was confirmed, and the subject was taken into custody and transported to Orient Road Jail.

I’ll Take That – DWLSR – 

Arrest/Seize Tag

W Oak Ave/Thonotosassa Rd

An officer conducted a traffic stop after observing a vehicle traveling southbound on a roadway. A check of the vehicle’s Florida tag revealed the registration was expired, and a seize tag order was active. Contact was made with the driver, who was unable to provide registration or proof of insurance. The driver was placed under arrest for Felony Drivign Wile License Suspended and transported to Orient Road Jail. 

Lots of Loot – Burglary – Storage Unit

1600 block of Jim Johnson Rd

Officers responded to the business in reference to a reported burglary from a storage unit. They met with the victim, who advised that on March 29, he went to the storage unit and observed that a different lock had been placed on the unit. Staff advised the lock had been placed on March 18 after the unit was found unsecured. Upon gaining access, the victim discovered his coin collection, valued at approximately $7,000, was missing.

Front Porch Stealing – Burglary 

300 block of W Dixie St

Officers responded to the location for a delayed report of a stolen wallet. They met with the victim who stated she left her wallet on the front porch couch around 1:45 a.m. and discovered it missing upon returning at 5:20 a.m. The wallet contained her driver’s license, social security card, cashapp card, credit card and a fake gold rope necklace. 

March 31

Pop a Squat – Fraud – Rental Home – Scam

1100 block of Tyner St

An officer responded to the location and contacted the property manager, who advised that multiple individuals were found occupying the residence after renting it through Facebook, despite the property being managed by his company. The occupant stated he located the listing on Facebook Marketplace and sent a total of $2,600 via Zelle in multiple transactions to rent the property. The occupants were advised of the fraudulent situation and began vacating the property.
