January 31

No License For You! – NVDL Arrest

W Renfro St/S Franklin St

An officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for failure to drive in a single lane. Upon contact, it was learned that the driver did not have a license and has never had one. The driver was placed under arrest and transported to Orient Road Jail. 

Big Bada Boom – Discharging a Firearm

1300 block of E Alabama St

An officer, while on patrol, heard gunshots and responded to the area of Alabama/Morgan, where the shots appeared to be coming from. A canvass of the area did not reveal any damage at this time. 

Park and Pace – Drug Investigation

300 block of S Frontage Rd

An officer attempted a traffic stop due to a traffic infraction. The vehicle pulled into a parking lot and the driver fled on foot.

February 1

Not Finders, Keepers – Theft

200 block of W Alexander St

Officers responded to the above location and met with the victim, who advised she set her purse down to try on shoes and inadvertently left it on the display rack. She realized her purse was no longer with her, so she returned to the store to find it no longer there. 

Ride It Like You Stole It – Supplement/Bicycle Theft Arrest

3500 block of W Baker St

An officer located a subject at the above location, still in possession of a previously stolen bicycle. The subject was placed under arrest and transported to Orient Road Jail.

February 2

Free Groceries For You! – Supplement-Theft Arrest

3000 block of James L Redman Pkwy

A subject was determined to have shoplifted 70 plus items from the above location, totaling more than $350. The subject did not meet APAD criteria and was transported to Orient Road Jail.

Pop a Cap – Burglary W/Battery

301 N Wilder Rd

An officer responded in reference to a disturbance and meet with the victim who advised he was leaving the community when he observed two subjects involved in a argument with an unknown person. One of the subjects approached the victim in a hostile manner and tried to open his car door. The victim warned him not to open his door, that he had a firearm. The subject responded in a not very nice way and lunged into the car, where he threatened to cause the victim bodily harm. The victim began to drive off, and the subject held onto the vehicle. The victim was placed in fear for his life, so he unholstered his firearm and fired one round out of his driver’s side window. The subject was not struck but let go of the vehicle. 

Somebody’s Calling – Misuse of 911

3100 block of Emerson Place

An officer responded to the residence in reference to a man contacting PCPD and appearing to be involved in a disturbance with himself. The officer observed the man on the front lawn of his property, and upon sight of law enforcement, he went inside. In total, he made 5 calls to 911 and never reported an emergency. 

February 3

Snatch and Sprint – Theft

2600 block of Thonotosassa Road

An officer responded to the above-listed location in reference to a delayed theft complaint. Upon arrival, contact was made with the store manager, who stated a subject grabbed a customer’s paid order from the drive-thru and fled on foot.  

How Many Now? – Felony SWLST

W Ball St/Hunter St

An officer conducted a traffic stop due to a traffic infraction. Upon contact with the driver, it was learned that he had a suspended license with nine prior guilty convictions. The driver was arrested for felony DWLSR and transported to Orient Road Jail.

February 5

Hiding in Plane Sight – Supplement

300 block of N Michigan Ave

An officer responded to the above location after a bailiff reported that a subject was in a courtroom with an active Probable Cause Pickup Order. The subject was placed into custody and transported to Orient Road Jail.

Saw the Light – Construction Theft

400 block of Charlie Taylor Rd

An officer responded to the above location in reference to the report of a delayed theft involving light fixtures. Contact was made with the complainant, who is the superintendent for a contractor. Seven light fixtures valued at $12,600 were stolen from the construction site sometime between January 17 and January 30. 

Post-Dated Check? – Fraud

1000 block of W Dr Martin Luther King Jr Blvd

An officer met with an employee at the above location. The employee advised that on 9/22/23, a check was mailed to a vendor, but the vendor never received it. The employee contacted the bank, who informed him the check had been cashed by an unknown person. 

Two For One – Warrant/DWLSR

Nosleda St/N Alexander St

An officer conducted a traffic stop for an equipment violation. The driver was found to be six times DWLSR and HTO. The passenger was found to have an active Pasco County VOP warrant and to be in possession of two glass pipes that tested Positive for methamphetamine. Both were taken into custody and transported to Orient Road Jail.
