Dine and Dash – Defraud an Inn Keeper
1200 block of Townsgate Court
An officer responded to the above location and spoke with the manager who reported that a customer had ordered food and alcoholic beverages totaling $43.82. The subject sat and consumed the items and then left without paying. The officer detained the suspect and an eCRA report was completed for defrauding an innkeeper, and the suspect was transported to Orient Road Jail.
Scanning Scam – Shoplifting
2600 block of James L Redman Pkwy
An officer responded to the above location regarding a shoplifting incident involving a suspect detained in the loss prevention office. The suspect used the self-checkout area and placed items into bags without scanning them while scanning and paying for other items. The suspect then proceeded past all points of sale without paying for the unscanned merchandise. Upon investigation, it was determined that the suspect expressed remorse for the incident. A review of criminal history revealed the suspect met the eligibility requirements for the APAD program.
An eCRA report was completed, and an APAD acknowledgment form was prepared and subsequently forwarded to the Misdemeanor Probation Unit.

An officer responded to the business and spoke with an employee who reported an unknown individual threw a rock through the door causing it to shatter. The door was valued at $1,000.

Your Brain on Drugs – Possession of Narcotics
2000 block of N. Wheeler St
While patrolling the area, an officer made consensual contact with a subject who was loitering in front of the business. The subject was placed under arrest for possession of methamphetamine and transported to Orient Road Jail.
More Scanning Scams – Retail Theft
2600 block of James L Redman Pkwy
An officer responded to the above location and met with Loss Prevention, who detained a subject for failing to scan $122.34 in merchandise at the self-checkout and exiting the store. The subject did not meet APAD requirements and was ROR at the scene.

Retail Theft
2600 block of James L Redman Pkwy
An officer responded to the above-listed business in reference to a shoplifting complaint. A subject was observed at the self-checkout line failing to scan all the items selected. The subject then attempted to leave the store, bypassing the final point of sale, in an apparent effort to deprive the store of the unpaid items, a total value of $236.94. It was noted that the subject had no prior arrests and was deemed eligible for the APAD program.

Tee Time – Burglary
2100 block of Village Park Rd
An officer responded to a delayed disturbance involving the attempted theft of a golf cart. The golf cart was observed being driven out of the complex by juveniles. The golf cart was later found abandoned near East Calhoun Street and North Nancy Terrace. The complex manager, requested follow-up by a PCPD detective and prosecution of the suspects if identified.
Bye-Cycle – Theft
700 block of E. Madison St
An officer responded to the above-listed residence in reference to a reported bicycle theft. Upon arrival, contact was made with the victim, who stated that his black mountain bike was stolen from his yard.

Construction Burglary
3600 block of Forest Path Dr
Officers responded and met with the construction superintendent who stated two residential doors were removed from the house under construction.
Needed a Brewski – Shoplifting
2700 block of Thonotosassa Rd
Officers responded to the above location in reference to a theft of beer that had just occurred. Contact was made with the suspect who was placed under arrest and transported to Orient Road Jail.
You Can Run – Flee to Elude
Alabama St/S Morgan St
Officers were dispatched to the area in reference to multiple dirt bikes being ridden recklessly. An officer located the dirt bikes near Alabama St. / Warnell St. and attempted a traffic stop at which time both dirt bikes fled. Officers made contact and detained one subject who was placed under arrest for Fleeing to Elude, no motorcycle endorsement, and four additional traffic violations. The dirt bike was impounded by Brewington’s and the subject was transported to Orient Road Jail.
