Calvary Free Will Baptist Church celebrates 50th anniversary

Calvary Free Will Baptist Church celebrated its 50th anniversary on Sunday, Oct. 4, 2015.

The Golden Jubilee Anniversary Celebration had a theme of “Fifty Years of Blessings, Fifty Years of Faith, and Fifty Years of Faithfulness.”

The church, located at 3539 E. Trapnell Road in Plant City, hosted about 140 people. Attendees included the church’s seven last known living charter members. Jeff Duncan and family were guest singers.

The Rev. Rodger McClellan gave a sermon.Assistant Pastor, Rev. Jeremy Craddock, and Youth Pastor Rev. Jessey Bradshaw also preached.

Calvary Free Will Baptist Church organized in 1965 as a small mission in a three-room house on Mud Lake Road in Plant City.   In 1967, the church moved into a newly built building only a couple of blocks away.  Outgrowing those facilities, the church purchased and moved to the current location on E. Trapnell Road.
