Hillsborough County Sheriffs Office detectives are investigating an early morning shooting Friday, in Dover.
At 1:41 a.m., the Hillsborough County Sheriffs Office was notified that multiple shots had been fired outside the residence of 4816 Copper Canyon Blvd in Dover.
A short time later, Brandon Regional Hospital notified HCSO that Carmen Denise Dean, 42, had driven herself to the hospital for emergency treatment for at least one gunshot wound. Dean has since been relocated to Tampa General Hospital in serious but stable condition.
Detectives have not yet established a clear motive, but are focusing on several theories that strongly indicate the incident was not a random act. Dean was shot at least once while in or near her vehicle parked in the driveway of her home.
Detectives have finished processing the crime scene and will continue to interview friends, associates and family members of the victim, including Dean’s husband, Fredrick.
Fredrick Dean is being cooperative in the investigation and has not been labeled a suspect at this time.
