Firefighters from Hillsborough County Fire Rescue extinguished successfully a fire this afternoon just east of McIntosh Road about three miles north of Interstate 4.
Cause of the fire is still undetermined, but the blaze consumed about five acres of palm trees. Emergency personnel controlled the flow of traffic on McIntosh while firefighters gained control.
