A bicyclist died earlier today after being hit by a car on State Road 39 north of Trapnell Road.
Sherry Lee Brant, 70, was traveling southbound in the outside lane when her 2005 Toyota Corolla drifted into the paved shoulder, hitting the back of the bicycle ridden by an unknown hispanic male. He was ejected into the roadway where he passed away from his injuries. Brant’s car came to a rest on the grass shoulder.
A section of southbound lanes on State Road 39 were closed to traffic during the investigation at about 2:45 p.m.
The incident remains under investigation and details are subject to change.
