Josie is a seven-year-old who attends Grace Christian School in Valrico. She cheers for Grace Christian School’s tiny Patriots.
How long have you been cheering?
I have been cheering for three years.
What’s your favorite thing about cheering?
Being with my friends.
What’s an area of cheering that you want to improve in?
Stunting, my front walk over, and my back hand spring.
Do you want to continue cheering in high school?
Yes, definitely.
On the weekends, would you rather cheer in the mornings or evenings, and why?
In the mornings, so I can have the rest of the day to play.
What advice would you give someone who wanted to get into cheerleading?
I would tell them that cheer is really fun, and I think they would like it.
What’s your favorite memory when cheering?
Being a flyer at nationals and winning first place.
After cheerleading, what would be your favorite meal to eat?
Eating at Fred’s Marketplace in Plant City.
Is there a sport that you haven’t played that you would like to try?
Softball
When you’re not cheering, what are you doing in your free time?
I go to my brother’s football, baseball, and soccer games. And I go home and play with my toys in my room and sleep.
