Cody is a 14-year-old who attends BridgePrep Academy of Riverview. He plays baseball for the Plant City OutKast team.
How long have you been playing baseball?
I’ve been playing baseball for five years, technically, I took four years off to play football, so yeah, five years.
What position do you play, and what’s your favorite thing about playing it?
I play centerfield. My favorite thing about it is that I have a lot of space, so I can go make diving and spectacular plays.
What’s your favorite memory of playing baseball?
My favorite memory of playing baseball is when my 8u All-star Team won a national tournament championship. It was just a great experience.
What’s your current walk-up song?
Him all along – gunna
Do you prefer morning or evening games and why?
Morning games because it’s calm and I’m a morning person, so I’m fully up and awake for games.
What’s an area in baseball that you would like to improve?
An area I would like to improve in baseball is my hitting because I want to become a great hitter, not just a good one.
If you could make your own jerseys, what colors would you make them?
Black and baby blue with pin stripes.
If you could change a rule in baseball, would you change a rule or keep everything the same?
Keep everything the same.
When you’re not playing baseball, what are you doing in your free time?
I’m either working out, lifting weights, or watching film of myself so I can improve my game.
Is there a sport that you haven’t played yet that you would like to try? If so, what is it and why?
I would like to try tennis, tennis looks fun, intense, and competitive, so yeah, tennis.
