Ryker is a 12-year-old who attends Tomlin Middle School and is going into 7th grade. He plays for the Plant City Warriors travel baseball team. He is primarily a center fielder and catcher but is a utility player that plays all over.
How long have you been playing baseball?
I have been playing baseball for eight years, since I was 4 yrs old.
What’s your favorite thing about baseball?
My favorite part is making a good catch in the outfield or throwing a runner out trying to steal a base.
What’s your favorite memory involving baseball?
My favorite memory so far has been taking a week long trip to Cooperstown with my team, playing baseball and singing in the barracks.
If you could make your own baseball team, what would you name it and what colors would the uniforms be?
I would name my team “The Hookset Hitters” with duck camo uniforms because my second favorite thing besides baseball is fishing.
What’s an area in baseball that you would like to improve on?
I want to improve on velocity and accuracy with my pitching.
What’s a sport that you haven’t played on a team that you would want to try and why?
I would like to try basketball. I shoot hoops with friends and think it would be fun to do on a team.
When you’re not playing baseball, what are you doing in your free time?
Fishing and spending time with family and friends.
What’s your favorite thing that you’ve done so far this summer?
Going to Cooperstown and visiting New York City.
