Madelina will be a sophomore at Plant City High School and she just made the Raiders varsity cheer team.
How long have you been cheering?
I’ve been cheering for about 5-6 years before City Girls, and this is my first year with them.
Was this your first year trying out for Plant City? If so, were you nervous about making it?
Yes, this is my first year with City Girls, and at first I was very nervous but kept faith in the Lord and made it through!!
What’s your favorite thing about cheering?
My favorite thing about cheer would be making new bonds and being able to express my personality there, and lastly I love stunting!
You and the rest of the team were at UCF Master Cheer Camp last week. How was that?
This past week was amazing, I loved how involved it was and how we were all together through the process. I also learned so many new skills that I never knew I could do!
What was your favorite thing about the camp?
My favorite thing about the camp was probably spirit night, it was so funny and super fun!
Are you cheerleading for game day and comps?
Yes, I will be cheering for game day and comps!!
Which are you most looking forward to?
For game day, I’m most excited to be hype with the cheerleaders and for comps showing everyone how good of a team we are and how well we work together!!
What’s an area in cheer that you want to improve on throughout summer?
An area in cheer I’d like to work on this year would be more stunting, it is my favorite, yet there is so much to it, so probably there!
If you could give advice to someone trying out for the team next year, what advice would you give them?
My advice would be to be confident and make sure to try your best, and if you mess up, don’t let it affect you; move on to the next thing and just show them what you can do!!
Do you have any fun plans for the summer?
Yes, I do have fun stuff planned for this summer. I’m going to Washington, New York, beach houses, and at the end of the summer, going out with the cheer team on a little vacay!!!
