Flag football registration

The Plant City Recreation and Parks Department is promoting the next fall season of its youth flag football program.

This will be the league's 52nd season of play. Last year, according to the department, nearly 200 youth between age 4 and 15 played and learned basic football skills and rules. Plant City's league has no practices or coaches and emphasizes the "fun" in "fundamentals." Co-ed teams in five age groups will play at 8:30, 9:45 and 11 a.m. Saturday mornings from Sept. 15 through Nov. 3 at the Otis M. Andrews Sports Complex, 2602 E. Cherry St.

All players must have their registration forms and payments mailed or delivered to the Recreation and Parks Department main office, 1904 S. Park Road, by 5 p.m. Aug. 29. The cost is $35 per player for the eight-week season and the fee covers jerseys and mandatory accident insurance. Players must bring their own black shorts and sneakers or football cleats. Forms may be downloaded from plantcitygov.com but online registration is not currently available.
