Xavier Quesean Smith was arrested for the homicide of Michael Joseph Beson.
One man has been arrested in a homicide that occurred at the Mobil gas station on Wheeler Street on Friday, April 8.
The Plant City Police Department arrested Xavier Quesean Smith, 19, on Sunday, April 10. Smith was arrested and charged with armed robbery and the subsequent murder of the homicide victim, 67-year-old Michael Joseph Beson.
Beson, of Standish, Michigan, was the victim of a thwarted armed robbery.
Smith was arrested Sunday after officers received a call related to gunshots in the area. Smith fit the description of the suspect and was arrested. At the time of his arrest, Smith was in possession of a stolen firearm and had an outstanding arrest warrant for violation of probation.
He is being held at the Orient Road Jail, in Tampa.
