This week on Cops Corner, Plant City Police searched for a stolen dog, investigated jewel thieves and tracked down shoplifters.
1400 block of East Cherry Street.
Burglary: The victim reported someone entered his home between 7 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. by cutting a screen and breaking down the back door. The suspect stole miscellaneous jewelry including a wooden jewelry box, a large amount of loose change and a small light green suitcase with wheels.
300 block of North Alexander Street.
Theft: This victim stated two of their debit cards, their driver’s license and Social Security card were stolen while they were working at South Florida Baptist Hospital.
1010 block of North Wills Street.
Grand theft: Someone snuck onto the victim’s property and stole their tan pit bull, which was valued at $5,000.
A BAD APPLE
1010 block of West Warren Street.
Grand theft: The victim had posted their black Apple watch, valued at $300, for sale on “Offer Up.” The suspect responded and agreed to purchase the watch. During the meet-up, the suspect took the watch and drove away without paying for it. The victim signed a waiver of prosecution.
2410 block of James L. Redman Parkway.
Criminal mischief: Officers showed up at the construction site after receiving a call about criminal mischief. They met with the complainant and they said said unknown suspects had entered the site and caused approximately $6,000 in damages.
WHEELING AND STEALING
1100 block of Mendonsa Road.
Burglary: Between 10:45 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. someone broke into the victim’s house and shed and stole jewelry, a silver dining set and four 17-inch tires with chrome rims.
2000 block of Preservation Drive.
Fraud: An unknown suspect went on a fraudulent shopping spree with a woman’s Macy’s credit card. The suspect purchased $300.69 worth of men’s clothing.
DOLLAR STORE DISCOVERY
810 block of East Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.
Retail theft/Warrant arrest: The suspect stole $26.50 worth of miscellaneous items from the Dollar General at 1502 E. Baker St. When she was apprehended, officers found out she also had a warrant out for her arrest. She was taken to jail without incident.
