Six students will split $15,000 awarded by Tampa Bay Businesses for Culture and the Arts.
Plant City-area high school students with an interest in the arts can get some help paying for college.
Tampa Bay Businesses for Culture and the Arts awards $15,000 to six Tampa Bay-area students each year through its Charlie Hounchell Art Stars Scholarships Program, and the 2017 scholarship process is about to begin. The scholarship goes to students involved in visual, performing and literary arts, and can be used at colleges, universities and professional arts training programs.
Applications, which can be found at TBBCA.org, can be submitted by Monday, Feb. 20, 2017, at no cost. Packets can be mailed to TBBCA at P.O. Box 559, Tampa, 33601. Scholarship recipients will be named in April.
