We asked Plant City: Daylight Savings or Standard Time, which do you prefer?

Standard! As the seasons change, industries can change their hours of operation as they follow the sun’s patterns. The one weird thing Benjamin Franklin initiated…..it’s TIME for a change.

Melissa Heck

Adjust it by 30 minutes and call it even

Kristen Marie

Move a Half Hour call it even!!!!

Heady Lamar McCullough

Daylight

I love waking up while it’s dark and get a lot of (things) done before the day started and we have an extra of 2-3 hours of sunlight after work. In my mind, Al thought i know the day has 24 hours, it seems the day last longer

Rogério Pereira

Standard time. Sunrises at 8:00am would be way too weird.

Kenneth Aubrey Sanders Jr.

I’m really looking forward to those 6:30 sunsets again when everyone complained about the 6:30 sunsets.

David John

DST. When it gets dark earlier, my body thinks it’s time for bed. Also, there’s less time after work to enjoy outdoor activities. Here in Florida, we want to be outside in the “winter”…usually when we have the clocks set at Standard Time. Fun fact: the time change was originally proposed by a New Zealand bug collector named George Hudson who wanted more daylight time after work to collect bugs.

Shannon Crosby

Standard time. It will be too dark in the mornings in the winter if we keep daylight savings time.

Andrea Thomas

STANDARD get dark later! It’s also better for people who have vision issues like glaucoma, and or can’t drive at night! Also probably better for truckers because the more daylight the easier it is for them I think. I don’t want standard. I made a mistake. I want daylight savings my bad.

Jill Arbetter

Either time…just decide and STAY there!

Jimmye Meeks Hudson

I’d prefer standard time. The states who already don’t change their clocks are on standard time, so why not follow what’s already working. Either way, I’d like to stop changing my clocks.

Cody Lenz

Standard. Time changing messes with your natural rhythms.

Dave LeClair

standard time year round. earth tilt is going to change light/dark times anyway. politicians aren’t going to pass it

Hank Kimball

Daylight savings time.

Melody Yancey

Standard time.

Michelle Sedan Tackitt

Daylight savings time forever!!

Barbara Fulford Dykes

Daylight Standard. It goes with our natural biology clock, supports our hormones, & everything our system needs to regulate for healthier support especially long-term.

Kimberly Davis

Standard time for me.

Matthew Ellis

Standard. Winter would be weird with sunrise so late with DST. If bill gets signed into law, it will be repealed. Look at what happened in the 1974 when it was last enacted.

Lamar Taylor

I prefer it get darker later.

Michael Springer

Standard

Scott N Monica Fleming

I’d like to see it just stick to one or the other.

Jason Byron

Standard

Donna Maria Licata

Daylight Savings

Patty Keller

Standard time

Frances Beaty

Personally I would like to change back to standard time but only by a half hour then leave it not changing anymore.

Danny Dougherty

Daylight is better

Stanley Spencer Jr.

Daylight Savings

Jerry Wright Sr.

Daylight!

Jane Darrow

Standard. And standard is better for you

Nicole Barrows

Just like it is and has been for years and we have survived

Dennis Carroll

Definitely daylight savings time.

Donna Waller Bashline

Daylight Savings for sure

Thomas Hofts
