Hillsborough County 4-H and FFA clubs are trying to give families in need a happier, healthier life.
The agriculture groups are joining forces for the Healthy Food Drive, which will accept donations of fresh produce, oatmeal, bread, canned fruits and vegetables and more through Friday, Dec. 9. According to a press release from Florida Baptist Children's Homes, which is promoting the drive, around 197,000 people in the county are considered to be "food insecure" and need assistance.
Donations can be dropped off at the University of Florida's Plant City campus, 1200 N. Park Road. For more information, call Debra Barry at (813) 757-2288.
