Carolyn G. Eady

Carolyn G. Eady, age 83, of Plant City, FL passed away on November 18, 2017. 

She is survived by her loving family and friends.

James Crawford ‘Jim’ Beaty

James Crawford “Jim” Beaty, 67, of Plant City, Florida, and formerly Gainesville, born on June 18, 1950 in Plant City, entered into eternal rest on November 19, 2017. 

He was a 1968 graduate of Plant City High School, where he was a member of the varsity football team, and a 1973 graduate of the University of South Florida. 

He was the owner of RW Beaty Restaurant Equipment & Supplies in Gainesville. He attended First United Methodist Church of Plant City and was a member of the Optimist Club of Plant City. 

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Connie Hinson Beaty; sons, James Earl Beaty (Anne Marie) of West End, North Carolina, Jason Robert Beaty (Christina Marie) of Oldsmar, and Jared Adam Beaty (Jaclyn Ann) of Plant City; mother, Louise Crawford Beaty of Plant City; sisters, Jean Beaty Blake, Martha Beaty Canady, and Frances Beaty, all of Plant City; mother-in-law, Frances Hinson of Plant City; grandchildren, Cameron and Zoe Beaty of West End, Preston, Chloe, and Lyla Beaty of Oldsmar, and Jackson Edward Beaty of Plant City; and many other nieces, nephews, in-laws, family and friends. 

He was preceded in death by his father, Earl Hollis Beaty; and brother, Gerald E. Beaty. 

Services were held on Saturday, November 25 at 11:00 A.M. at Hopewell Funeral Home. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Optimist Club of Plant City Youth Programs, PO Box 1755, Plant City, FL 33564.

Geneva B. ‘Granny’ Keene

Geneva B. "Granny" Keene, 81, of Plant City, Florida, born in Milan, Georgia on April 23, 1936, entered into eternal rest on November 22, 2017. 

She loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and enjoyed working in the yard with her plants and flowers. She was a member of Sharon Baptist Purity Church, Plant City. 

She is survived by her children, Teresa Keene, Marlon Keene (Sally), Sherlene Elliott (Ronnie), and Felita Keene, all of Plant City; sister, Thelma Bohannon Turner of Perry, Florida; grandchildren, Tyler Elliott (Lexie Meyer), Jake Elliott (Laura Beasley), and Cody Elliott (Leann); great-grandchildren, Easton Elliott, and Sadie Elliott; nephew, Jason Turner (Heather); and great-niece, Lexie Turner and great-nephew, Noah Turner. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jexie Lee "Jake" and Martha Bohannon. 

A Celebration of Life was held Sunday, November 26 at 3:00 P.M. at Hopewell Funeral Home, 6005 S County Road 39, Plant City.
